LG Manoj Sinha summons House; House committee meetings suspended

Srinagar, Aug 12 (KNO): The autumn session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly will commence on September 21, with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha summoning the House to meet at 10:00 AM in Srinagar. In a bulletin released today, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Assembly Secretariat quoted the LG’s order: “I, Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me under Section 18(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019, do hereby summon the Legislative Assembly for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to meet at Srinagar on Monday, the 21st of September, 2026 at 10:00 AM.” A separate bulletin issued by the Secretariat directed that each MLA shall submit not more than four starred and four unstarred questions, along with one bill, by or before August 25, 2026. Members have also been asked to submit not more than two resolutions by September 5, 2026. Meanwhile, the LA Secretariat has ordered that meetings and other affairs of the Financial and other Committees of the House shall remain suspended with effect from August 22, 2026, in view of the commencement of the autumn session—(KNO)
